Safety First, Always
Fireworks are one of the most exciting and spectacular ways to celebrate any occasion. But like any product that involves fire and explosive compounds, they must be used responsibly. At Fireworks Shop Kenya, operated by Jays Pyrotechnics, safety is our top priority. All our fireworks are certified, tested, and safe when used correctly.
Essential Safety Rules
Rule 1 — Always Buy Certified Fireworks: Never buy fireworks from unlicensed street vendors. Uncertified fireworks can be unpredictable and dangerous. Always purchase from trusted suppliers.
Rule 2 — Read Instructions Carefully: Every firework comes with instructions. Always read them before use to understand safe distances and proper lighting methods.
Rule 3 — Use Fireworks Outdoors: Use fireworks in open spaces away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Indoor use is only safe for controlled products like cold sparks.
Rule 4 — Keep Children Safe: Children should never handle fireworks unsupervised. Keep them at least 10 meters away from active fireworks.
Rule 5 — Never Re-Light a Dud: If a firework fails, wait 15 minutes and soak it in water. Never attempt to re-light it.
Critical Handling Rules
Rule 6 — Never Point Fireworks at Anyone: Always direct fireworks upwards. Never aim at people, animals, or buildings.
Rule 7 — Keep Water Nearby: Have a bucket of water or hose ready to handle emergencies and dispose of used fireworks safely.
Rule 8 — Light One at a Time: Never light multiple fireworks at once unless professionally trained. Light one, step back, and enjoy.
Storage & Permits
Rule 9 — Store Fireworks Properly: Keep fireworks in a cool, dry place away from heat or flames. Never leave them in a hot car.
Rule 10 — Know Permit Requirements: Consumer fireworks are allowed, but professional displays require permits. Consult experts like Jays Pyrotechnics for guidance.
